I'm a fine art photographer living in Berlin, Germany. I have enjoyed my journey into photography for more than 30 years, with a growing passion for the beauty of architecture, visual illusions and the art of abstraction. I'm always looking for the structural essence of things, underlying visual patterns, shapes, geometry, and how everything is connected. I like to simplify, deconstruct, and reassemble images. This results in unique, often minimalistically composed pictures on the edge of graphics and paintings. I also like to set architecture in motion in my video works. AI is not part of my creation process.

In addition to photography, I'm also interested in understanding how human perception, emotions, and emotional expressions function, and how they can be accurately observed and captured from the perspective of an experimental psychologist. I worked at Bielefeld University, the University of Greifswald, and at the Max Planck Institute of Human Development in Berlin, where I was also a member of the art committee. I am now at the University of Potsdam.

My works have been shown in national and international exhibitions, are part of important art collections (e.g. Hudson's Bay Company Global Art Collection, New York), and are published in books, magazines, and newspapers around the world.

I love the process of finding the perfect composition, experimenting in the digital darkroom to the sound of good music and the smell of tasty coffee in the air.
